Breaking the Silence
Breaking The Silence is a counselling service for male victims and survivors of sexual abuse from Asian origin communities throughout West Yorkshire.

If you have suffered in the past, or are suffering now, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our counsellors are friendly and sympathetic and will always put your needs first. Any information you give us will be treated in the strictest confidence.

What is sexual abuse?

Sexual abuse covers: childhood sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault, pornography, torture and other acts of an abusive nature.

We support men aged 11 and over. We also work with family members of abuse survivors and the innocent family members of the abusers family. However, we do not work with known abusers.

Three quarters of sexually abused children did not tell anyone about the abuse at the time. Around a third still had not told anyone about their experience(s) by early childhood
